Adirondack Fishing

There is a little shop up near Lake Placid that has all sorts of type-cuts and whats-its and gizmos. On an outing earlier this year, someone found this little fisherman.
I didn't get a chance to print it on Bertha, because things were always inked up in the wrong color, or I didn't want to deal with inking it up when the cut was so small. However...
Now there is Sig! And with a little baby press, a small cut is ideal! So the fisherman was finally printed--and I think he's wonderful. Maybe it will become part of a set of cards for the summer?

This past week brought the start of mock-ups for wedding invitations, the start of Valentine's Day cards (which should get finished this weekend) and thinking about goals for the upcoming year. January is more than half over! It's time to get going!

Sigwalt Chicago

Last night was filled with lots of experimentation and printing on the new baby press, Sig. New and interesting things learned: how to adjust the bed of the press so that it prints properly. Not sure that it's totally right yet, but it's getting closer.
So. Baby Sig has had it's first ink up, and also it's first cleaning. It's a sweet little press. Now... to start printing! Valentines are first on the list.
And the iPod in that photo? Totally there so that you know how big (or little) this baby press is.

New Press!

This week at BCP... a lovely little Sigwalt Chicago #11 is on it's way! It should arrive about midweek. I can hardly wait!

Other things that are happening:
Save the Dates are headed to Canada on Monday
Designing Shipping Labels
Finished binding a book, but can't post a photo of it quite yet because it has a higher purpose as a gift.
Lots of designing. Once the designing is done, lots of printing.
And working on the blog page... as you might have noticed.

Press Shop Library

2011.

The "To-Do" list is pretty long, but I'm excited to tackle it. This year I'm expanding the Press library, hopefully getting a website up and running, printing lots of things (at least two sets of wedding invitations!), sorting lots of type, and maybe getting a baby press that can travel with me. (Truly, I'm turning into a printer, I want to carry a piece of cast iron around with me?)
