Last Day of March

Who knew? Trucks have changed technologically since the ones that I currently have. So I've ordered new ones. In the mean time, I've been enjoying a break from school, designing lots of things, and trying to find new jobs to print.

Oh yes, and reading. Currently, Paradise Lost, by John Milton. Not for those of faint heart who find epic poems droll, but I like it. I liked Beowulf too, though.

Also, if you happen to be reading this after 9:45, and read it earlier, yes, I did edit it. Rollers and trucks are not the same thing, and I did not order more new rollers. New trucks, yes. Not new rollers.

AND. UPS came to the house, delivered a small package. I was bummed to find out that the package was not for me.

Are You Ready?

They're here! Beautiful, rubber rollers are here! UPS delivered them about half an hour ago.

Shame that I won't be able to USE them until next monday at the earliest. The chem exam tomorrow is putting a dent in that, and then a quick trip to Maine, during which I plan to seek out lots of printing inspiration!

UPS

I saw the UPS truck today...

...and it just kept going. Maybe tomorrow? Maybe tomorrow it will
bring me my rollers?

Art

My rollers should be here at the end of the week! So excited for them to arrive from NA Graphics. And even though I was prompted to see if I had trucks for the rollers, (which I have some) I think I might be two short, which is depressing, but easy to fix.

I adore this letter "L," from DailyDropCap.com -- from what I understand, the artist has been doing a letter a day for quite some time. My friend Barry introduced me to it during the first three letters of the project, and it's been pretty interesting to watch it evolve.

Operation Moving: Done.

Yesterday marked the final day of moving things from their old home in New Bremen to their new home here. Yay!

And yesterday I also found the key to the quoins that I've had kicking around for a while, so I'll actually be able to lock up the type in the chase. Another plus.

Finally, (for today at least) there are some fantastic woodcuts and things that are waiting to be printed; very appropriately, I found a Canada goose yesterday as there were more geese flying overhead.

Baby Presses

I was having fun surfing BriarPress.org; which lead me on an ebay quest to see if they actually had Baltimorean No 10's for sale. Go figure, they do. I'm not buying it...yet.
Anyway. Along my Google and Ebay adventures, I found this little thing; oh how I wish you could still get a press for $5.00!

Agony of Waiting

I realize it's only been about 24 hours, but I just want my rollers to be here, now.

While working today, I came up with a new idea that combines botanical prints and notebooks; I'm going to have to invest in a boxcar base next. (boxcarpress.com) ...after the business card job.

Coming Soon: Rollers

Rollers!

I ordered my rollers today, they should be here in about a week, according to the schedule. Fantastic. I'm very excited, I can print soon!

Inspiration

I printed this weekend; little spring notecards. I plan on sending some out soon; mostly they were something to do that was fun while I visited Wells this weekend.
I'm buying my rollers tomorrow! Going to the bank and just doing it, rather than wait around longer. I think that will be a good adventure.

And I've been making a list of printing inspirations recently:
-chicks (I really want to build a chicken coop)
-nazca lines (National Geographic did an article on them)
-fish (I've been cleaning and changing my tanks)
-printing (because I constantly dream about it--can it be it's own inspiration?)
